How to Write a Petition
When a magical need arises, some of us think first of lighting candles, or using herbs, stones and incense. However one of the most potent ways to make magic happen is with a pen and a simple piece of paper.
Spells are a method of making magic come to life. They are an aid to manifestation and a tool for healing and growth. It may come as a surprise to many witches how powerful simple spells made with a pen, pencil or piece of paper can really be. Paper spells help us gain clarity and request in a definite way from the universe. There are however some effective strategies for writing a good pen and paper spells.
Be certain to phrase your desire in the present tense. While writing out your magical wish, you always want to place your desires into the now. In the present moment is where change can happen if we write out: I have received a new wonderful job ….
It’s much more powerful than writing out, I will get a great job. In the present moment is where we create change. If you place something out there in the future than it will remain energetically about to happen somewhere in the future instead of occurring right now.
Another important step is to choose appropriate tools. Select some good quality paper or a paper that matches your intention. Make your petition feel magical and symbolically matched by choosing quality paper, and special colored ink or pencils that convey the energy of what you want. For instance, black ink communicates domination and green ink, markers or a colored pencil can be great for generating a money wish.
Also give some time to understand the tradition of ‘crossing and covering’ a name that you want to influence. For instance .. you may want I write your name out 3 times in full on a small piece of paper and then turn that paper 90* to the right. Now, wrote over your name in a cross cross pattern whatever condition you are trying to generate. I am so grateful I have gotten the job. You may want to write the affirmation 5 times,
crossing and covering your own name as a way of creating that reality for yourself. Now you have a small magical square of energy. Many would call this a petition paper. You may choose to decorate the four corners of the paper with a symbolic sigil. In the jib case, perhaps you would use a dollar sign. Astrological glyphs or even hand drawn designs can all work. This is your spell your are creating.
Once you have designed your paper, treat it like something magical. It is something magical! It’s your will expressed out loud in the 3D reality. Petition papers can be placed under a candle, or kept in a silk bag or red envelope until it’s made manifest. Petitions like this can also be incorporated into jar spells. Some like to carry these papers in a purse or wallet as a constant reminder.
Pen and paper magic is one of the easiest magics of all.
