What is a Spell??
The moment people discover that I am a witch, one of the first things they ask me is “do you cast spells? “. Well yea of course I answer and depending on who’s doing the asking, I also answer and so do you.
I believe that all humans are creating their life all the time through what they believe, imagine focus on and allow. It’s the human condition to create. We are creative beings and we are always making magic whether we are aware of it or not.
Another way to think about spells is that they are very focused prayers. Most people are familiar with saying a prayer. When praying we ask creator humbly to assist us. Whether it’s on bended knee or with folded hands, we implore God to hear us and help or us.
There’s nothing wiring with this practice. I pray daily and believe wholeheartedly in the power of prayer.
What turns a prayer into a spell or spiritual working, is the addition of props and tools. I say ‘props’ a little bit tongue in cheek, but I am referring to crystals, candles, incense, statues or whatever other objects we choose to represent the outcome we desire. Why use these things? Why not go directly to God? The objects we include in our spell, hold the energy of the outcome we desire. They are vibrationally attuned to the goal of the working. For instance a green candle is often used to work for money. The color green is the color of our American currency. But also, in nature the color green represent the growth of plants, the season of summer and our own inherent fertile power. So a green candle becomes the vehicle for communicating our desire.
The real magic however is when we communicate our desire not just to the universal kind, but also to our own subconscious mind. By using visual images, auditory stimulation, Hugh emotions and primitive scent and fragrance, we are able to bypass the
conscious mind and plant the seed of our desire, deep within in our subconscious mind. It’s here that the real magic takes place. Our logical mind is by passed and the creator within gets to work making it so.
So Mote it Be.
